Director and screenwriter of the hit sci-fi action film “Godzilla -1.0” Takashi Yamazaki believes that his film is not a “direct response” to Christopher Nolan’s biopic “Oppenheimer”, but focuses on similar themes. In a recent interview, Takashi Yamazaki touched on discussions on the web in which viewers compared the theme of nuclear disaster and the resulting fallout raised in both films.

“I do not believe that “Godzilla -1.0” is a direct answer to “Oppenheimer” because both films touch on similar themes. So, if you haven’t appreciated both films yet, we wouldn’t advise you to watch them at the same time,” the director said in particular, admitting that due to the delayed release of “Oppenheimer” in Japan, he had to travel to Taiwan to see the historical drama.
